We recently honored our top sales associates for 2017. General Sales Manager Ferris Hamdan and I announced the annual sales award winners recently at the dealership.
“Manager of the Year” was awarded to Internet Director Victor Montoya for his leadership of the internet department, which is the heartbeat of the store. He’s grown exponentially as a manager and his work ethic is second to none.
“Executive Managers of the Year” are Scott London and John Heisler, based on volume and performance. Both have vast auto experience and are hard workers who go above and beyond for their customers every day.
“Most Valuable Player” award went to both Jason Modugno for growth and Tommy “Chills” Tsilionis for highest volume. Tsilionis has 30 years in the industry and is very knowledgeable about Toyota products. His customers rave about him! Modugno has been with Sun Toyota less than a year. He jumped in full throttle and has proven to be a great team player, with a strong work ethic and great personality.
Dan Bateman won “New Car Salesperson of the Year” based on volume. As one of the most experienced and most successful sales reps, he enjoys a large following of extremely satisfied customers who consistently refer new customers to him. He has a good heart and is passionate about his work.
Monica McLaughlin took top honors as “Used Car Salesperson of the Year” for highest volume. She recently shattered our all-time high used car sales volume for a single month at 37. She has great energy and enthusiasm and creatively helps customers find just the right car for their needs.
“F&I Manager of the Year” was awarded to Courtney Cohen on volume and leadership. He uses his years of experience to train and coach newer department employees in finance and insurance techniques to help them succeed.
“Top CSI Salesperson of the Year” went to Jose Sanchez for his top customer satisfaction ratings, as measured by customer surveys. We call him “Smiley,” as he always has a smile to share with others. He’s a favorite with customers and enjoys a high volume of referral business.
Nael Barjas was named “Rookie Salesperson of the Year.” He had never been in the automotive business before joining Sun Toyota less than a year ago, but he was passionate about getting into car sales and willing to put in the work to learn the ropes. Now this former Uber driver has a new, satisfying and successful career for life.
“Internet Salesperson of the Year” honors went to Desmond Lee. Lee is one of the nicest people we know and he’s highly respected by both his customers and his colleagues. His volume of new, certified, and used car sales and customer satisfaction ratings are through the roof. His leadership, commitment and execution are outstanding.
Sandy Francisco was named “Most Improved Salesperson of the Year.” Ms. Francisco had no car sales experience when she joined us and initially struggled; but, she was fierce and self-confident that she could succeed … and she did! She now excels and is building a satisfied customer base and consistent referral sales.
Eduardo “Eddie” Chavez won for having the “Best Attitude of the Year – Sales.” He takes pride in his appearance and turns on a broad smile and positive attitude that just never stops. He’s good with customers and willingly helps others. He’s a solid team player and focused on success.
Sharon Sinkey won top honors as “Sales Administrator of the Year.” She helps any colleague who needs assistance, while managing our reporting function and employee certifications, as well as and setting up training sessions. She works hard every day in many capacities—and always has a sunny disposition.
“Most Inspirational Employee of the Year” was awarded to Customer Relationship Manager Lori-Ann Lynde whose has a powerful, calming effect on everyone she meets. She can renew and transform anyone’s bad day into a day of joy and peace.
